He tripled the votes he got in 2012, which was triple the votes that the nominee got in 2008 it's really easy to mock Gary Johnson but the data says otherwise, at least by this metric.

It will be interesting to see how both third parties do this election given that a huge segment of both dems and repubs have no interest in voting for their candidate.

Undeniably correct. However if I ask average Joe: A) "What is the main message of the Green party?" B)"What is the main message of Libertarian party?" Majority would roughly know what Greens are driving at, and majority would have not a clue about Libertarian agenda.
