it was note enough for this community to be, in their terms, quarantined for the Cathedral to maintain itself as the Cathedral it needs to have alternative points of view not readily accessible and therefore by definition "weird." "Normal" people don't work to get their info.

the problem is that innovators generally don't like to be in places where they are merely tolerated, where the audiences they've built can be closed at the whim of a suit or the mob. to eliminate Not Our Kind of People is to eliminate the outliers of all kinds

What we're seeing is Reddit and YouTube trying to become CBS. Which is not at all a stupid move on their part in many ways. The problem is, with 3 TV networks it's easy to silence Not Our Kind of People. with the internet is very hard

Have you ever used Reddit? It's always been a TDS hell-hole. I stopped using it months ago because they don't allow free thought in the slightest. Sure they have a couple right-wing echo-chamber subs, but you're silenced if you stray from those.

They call it a hivemind for a reason. I think the problem is that ppl just stick to their subs & never branch off & hear other perspectives. It becomes an echo chamber of yes men. The upvoting just makes it worse for outside opinions. Sort by controversial & it gets way better
