The stubbornness of people astounds me sometimes. These are probably everyone's initial problems with anarchy, including mine, but it's like they have no self doubt, no desire to read arguments from actual anarchists

I've been listening to and debating the subject for more than 20 years now. It would be great if you could convince people to live as anarchists suggest we ought to. Voluntarism would be great, if it weren't for other humans.

Sorry for assuming. My biggest problem with anarchism is that history shows how states always emerge. However I am increasingly persuaded that technology, and the increasing power of corporations, will allow a feasible modern anarchy

My problem with anarchy is that regardless of what you name it, there will always be a power structure. If there is a power structure where coercion is employed, you have a state and don't have voluntarism. Anarchism, like any other ism, only works if everyone agrees.

Every society will have a power structure, but when voting with the dollar the degree of coercion will be greatly reduced. Ofc people will be 'coerced' into following rules by private security, but legislation and law enforcement will be controlled by the consumer

You'll have to forgive me my cynicism, but it was honestly acquired. As a child my body was used as a receptacle for the failures, frustrations, whims, and carnal desires of others.

I'll probably never understand what you've been through, but for what it's worth I'm sorry. I hope despite you and Michael's political differences you can agree with some of his words about dealing with trauma

I appreciate that. I honestly don't even know who he is, but I would be curious to read what he has to say on dealing with trauma. It will be useful when I finish school and am working with victims of physical and sexual violence. Do you happen to have a link?

It's spread throughout his media appearances. He's talked about encouraging openness for victims of childhood abuse bc they often dont like talking abt it since friends often dont know how to react

@NickDharmadi Perhaps your faith and time have been misplaced with this one. I am grateful for both your perspective as well as the intelligible exchange.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
