My @GetSpectrum Nightmare
Livestreams were kind of slow, so I upgraded my service in May via the website
They mail me new modem, I install it myself, easy as pie
Internet down all day yesterday
Last evening modem reconnects to internet ostensibly but cannot get online

Call and get fwded to internet support Guy deduces that when I upgraded my service, Spectrum instead generated a second account under my name and address I have been paying bills for Account A since May. Bills for Account B went who knows where.

He fwds me to Retention and explains to them what happened. They cancel account B She goes to talk to her supervisor and am told that since I asked for a second account I am responsible for the past $100+ in bills

I told her that I did not, in fact, ask for a second account. I ask to speak to that supervisor. He is no longer available but will call back "in up to 24 to 48 hours." I cannot reactivate my modem online. It is registered to Account B. I can only log in to Account A.

She is not allowed to tell me what the number of Account B is, which I need for login, but if I tell her she will tell me if I got it right. i do not know my safety code, as that too is generated by Spectrum and can be found within this mysterious account B.

I call back and the very helpful internet department activates my modem and associates it with Account A again. I have no way of accessing Account B to pay it even if I wanted to. Currently waiting for supervisor to call back.

I have paid $160 to account A for previous 2 months. Will be eager to hear what he says.
