This is true. I live in Alabama and I've been to the north. People here are generally not racist. That's my anecdotal experience but I'm not the only one who has experienced it.

Been in Bama 5 years, from NJ/NYC originally. Went back last year for a week and had a bartender and customer ask me how racist it is here. Told them I never heard anything in Bama that I hadn't already heard up north.

Thank you for this tweet. I read snide comments made by northerners about the south every day, as if 1865 was yesterday and they personally fought to free slaves from ruthless southern plantation owners.

Would love to hear a conversation between you and Brion McClanahan; just throwing that out there.

I will never forget how my eyes were opened to Northern racism when I moved from New York to rural Georgia. It may have been because I went from urban to rural, but I had no concept of how well different races could live together prior to this.

Could you expand a bit?? I would love to hear more about the differences you expereinced.

Right? Every time the North has a stupid cultural grievance, Atlanta has to catch fire.

That is actually true, even though you are saying it and being sarcastic.
