Your point is republicans don’t want to follow the constitution either? In the past I’d disagree but now I can’t. I suppose by opposition here I mean libertarian/conservative types friendly to the idea of limited government vs. people deadset on ever expanding gov power

Though wouldn’t you say libertarians are pretty much in favor of abiding by the constitution? Are they the “virtually nobody?” I guess they would make up a small percentage of the country

on second thought, disregard that, because then I ask, which strain of libertarianism? Smh, since nobody is ever consistent. I can see what you mean, no matter which group there’s always something in the constitution they don’t like, gotcha

It's almost like this constitution thing you speak of has no authority. Weird, I totally would have thought a 233 year old piece of parchment with some scribblings on it could totally protect my rights.
