I tweeted about someone using my mother's ICU stay to hurt me in an unrelated conversation. It's now a days-long thread of people trashing each other. I have no idea who most of them are.

That also works in reverse. Those shocked when they're blocked by someone, often resort to the same thing when meeting opposition. It's a thin skin society and blocking is wielded seldom by the virtuous. Blocking those likely to troll and then report you is necessary at times.
