My mother was a journalist, but the thing she will always be remembered for around here is her weekly column called “‘Round the Bend”. I’ve been trying to get an archive of her writings. She could write about you in the most unflattering way, yet still make you laugh at yourself.

99% of the stories were about my siblings and I. To the point, people we barely knew would come up and ask “Did you guys really...?” Yes, yes we did all that crazy shit and my mom took it all in stride and could chide and make us laugh all at the same time. She was a treasure.

I didn’t find it. It was a tiny newspaper. The Country Journal, based in Huntington MA. Mom’s name was Mary Freitag. I’d kill to find her columns and read them again. Ty for trying though.
