Useless info. The riverbanks did establish the 'left-wing'/'right-wing' moniker. It was during French revolution when anti-royalists sat to the left of the presiding officers left in the assembly hall. The more moderate sat on the right. 1st time this seating divide happened.

If I understand you correctly, contemporary political ideas find their origins in France and parties use left/right paradigm to promote themselves. Is this paradigm useful for a peaceful society or should it be abandoned?
