I’d say it happened earlier with cable and the invention of the 24 hour news networks. A lot easier to keep the mask up for a couple hours a day vs 24/7.

I have one maybe. About 10 years ago when they all started losing subscribers and money because of the internet, they lowered their hiring standards and courted more "young voices", pretty much straight out of college or still even in it, that's who's been running the show since.

I’m starting to think there are 2 biases. 1) Anti establishment 2) Republicans. The way the press treated Kavanaugh compared to how it is now treating Biden for sexual assault allegations are night and day.

Play to your audience. It cost to be sly and clever, and to hide motives. With the increasing demand and market share taken by alt media sources a higher percentage of the population consuming MSM isn’t as clever and sly. It become less worth the cost the be so - MSM is worse.
