We are in a time where the members of the corporate press are explicitly and publicly advocating not covering the daily presidential press briefing during an international pandemic. This is entirely at odds with those whose job it is to provide information (i.e., their opposite)

it is hard for me to appreciate how divorced from reality one has to be for a pundit to claim they should be heard out in lieu of the head of the federal government during a national crisis, and I say this as an anarchist. Again: Not listened to, simply heard out.

the congregants have followed their training and now this is trending. a key element of the morality of the evangelical left is the belief that if something isn't for everyone then it isn't right for anyone it's not enough that they ignore him; they need you to as well.pic.twitter.com/oBzuHLrF6h

It used to seem the press was the communication wing of a particular party. Now it seems more like the press has a political wing

Seriously. It’s absolutely ridiculous. You would “think” that as a member of the press, they would want to help people by getting the information out. In reality, all they care about is clicks and likes.

They muttered something about him using the briefing as a campaign rally and then went and sat by themselves with their arms crossed

If one agrees shunning can be a useful tool, then perhaps there is an upside to the behavior of the corporate press. Namely, not deifying the presidency. Then again, ignoring and ridiculing the current occupier is kind of how he maintains high visibility and staunch support.

At what point does the corporate media lose its status of being journalists and members of the press, and as a result 1A protections? Did the founding fathers intend the 1A to include propagandists and agents of a foreign power?
