I think still others enjoy the fun of it but don't feel it's complete until they perceive the target as having their "I feel stupid" moment. So they rush to the climax, so to speak.

Yes it's the silence vs opportunity × one's current desire for approval and validation. Im not knocking. I appreciate the human condition. I like to "people watch" when out in public but this Twitter thing is amazing.
