Part of the problem is, people apologize for thing they shouldn't and there's no chance of redemption. Imus said something bad, apologized and is being trashed, even when he died. If there's no possibilty of redemption, what's the use in apologizing.

I believe that in many instances, people demand an apology- not because they want you to learn or to truly feel sorry for what was done, but to intimidate, shame, crucify, & make a spectacle of you. Their reasoning rarely comes from a place where internal growth is hopeful.
