The reason I am such a proponent of the gym for mental health is that it is probably the easiest way to have quantifiable data that things are improving in your life. If you do say six lifts and any one of them goes up in weight or reps, it's very grounding

I agree with you. Lost my wife earlier in May, and my mom in October. Suffered a back injury a week before my mom passed, and I haven't been able to lift since. I'm really out of sorts, emotionally and mentally. And physically, since I'm not lifting.
