The increase in violence is happening at the same time that social media and internet have "exploded" and true discipline has stopped. I don't recall witnessing violence in school, but I do recall a principal with a paddle, which was a great deterrent for misbehavior.

.Great point. Aside from the 3 points the unions keeping harping on in their very expensive ad campaigns -- the issues teachers bring up about why their job is "so hard" are actually related to their school boards, trustees, and administrators.
