Prices of digital books have gone up quite a bit. You used to be able to find popular books for $4-5. Now everything is $10-15 and I've found some digital books that are more expensive than print.

Prices went up because the money supply was growing substantially for the last 10 years. Authors/Publishers increased prices of their books (most informative about expectations of publishers is a preorder price), but it couldnt be possible with this crazy money printing.

Yep. They used anti-competitive practices, basically shoveling in investor money and selling at a loss to drive everyone else out of business. Terrible for consumers, and illegal in any country with a functional anti-trust system.

I'm amazed at the extent to which this restraint of trade / price hijacking theory is continually advanced despite there being virtually zero cases of it actually occurring, including in the cases about which antitrust regulation was originally formulated.
