there's no reason why you can't simply seize a ton of homes and water plants by this logic if anything the added step of taxing gates will only waste time and moneyhttps://twitter.com/BernieSanders/status/1192478435693780992 …

Say Bill Gates was actually taxed $100 billion. We could end homelessness and provide safe drinking water to everyone in this country. Bill would still be a multibillionaire. Our message: the billionaire class cannot have it all when so many have so little. https://twitter.com/teddyschleifer/status/1192188119417704448 …

the perversion here is that the more successful someone is at producing a product that is of use to people, the more justified the government supposedly is to steal from them

It’s also ironic that people who are that rich wind up donating their money anyway Gates, Buffett; both pledge most of their fortune to charity Obviously no human needs 100 billion; and obviously after a certain number, the rest just becomes irrelevant

I was arguing with a socialist recently. He was saying that public hospitals in Thailand (which are a disaster) need to take money from the private hospitals (which are fabulous). I was just like... dude... think...

People who have only ever consumed in their lives and never produced, rightfully assume that the surplus is only being kept from them via exploitation. If you can spend your entire existence consuming why would you think you need to produce.

One of the best simplifications of each side's worldview is that: one side wants to reduce or eliminate rich people while the other side wants to create more rich people.

I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on how much taxes the government has collected due to Gates creating Microsoft (all the employee income tax, business taxes, sales tax on products etc). Bet its a lot. Maybe the Gov should be grateful for all that rather than ruining Gates

Then take a look at Billionaires who use loopholes to pay no tax at all while they profit immensely from a rigged system. Can think one of one very thin skinned individual for example.
