Its exactly the lack of transparency or the apparent lack of consequences that allow conspiracy theories to flourish. One could be forgiven for thinking that this is exactly what those in charge want. Theyll let the conspiracy theories flourish and then deride those involved.

No rational person can just accept that two guards falling asleep and allowing a high profile prisoners death doesnt result in a whole lot of firings all the way up the chain of command.
