Price is a function of supply and demand. If price cannot be increased, and demand stays constant, supply runs out. This is what leads to shortages. You are "protecting" patients from having available medicine, and boasting about doing so.https://twitter.com/RepKatiePorter/status/1187021985219526659 …

I have to disagree on this one. Everyone needs to make a profit and I think they should. This isn’t profit but profiteering and exploitation. Why do the same drugs cost up to 2/3 less in Canada. Why should we support lower drug prices for the rest of the world.

They cost more because of regulations and other government interference in the market. Adding price controls simply makes the matter worse. It’s as dumb as the price controls that cause gas and water shortages every time a hurricane is threatening to hit Florida.

Collectivists argue that rationing is rationing regardless of it is done by market prices or by government But the latter requires the intolerant act of coercion. Collectivism is intolerant.

If a person has the right to (a) decide to no longer sell a drug and (b) not develop drugs in the first place, he logically (c) has the right to develop a drug and price it at $1,000,000,000,000,000 if he wishes. No one is being deprived of anything that belongs to them.
