I want to go to sleep but I have to stay up until just after 1 a.m. Why? Because I call my kids every year at the exact time they drew their first breath to wish them a happy birthday and my eldest turns 29 in a little over 3 hours.

When I had my neck surgery, he flew out to help take care of me. Amazing how roles get reversed as our kids get older. I'm fortunate to have a son who is there for me, and I can be there for him.
