Exactly. Sometimes kids get upset in public for reasons that have nothing to do with bad parenting.

I always took a bag of tricks (toys, books, etc) with me when out. I didn't miss many meals because I had to remove my crying child so they didn't bother other people, but if I did, it was my job to do so. I do have compassion, but I also have consideration for other people.

The truth is, people don't want to listen to a screaming child while they're out to dinner etc... I don't judge persay, but I do wonder why some parents take no steps to minimize crying or bad behavior when out. It's part of being a parent.
