A good way to determine if someone is repeating cliches in contemporary discourse vs. understanding what terms mean is if they conflate virtue signaling and in-group signaling (neither of which mean or even imply being on the left).

Why would anyone: A) Signal mutually agreed upon vices to their chosen “in” group? Or, B) Signal “virtues” that are not recognized by any group anywhere?
