It's hard to get in touch with the inner child when you know consequences and responsibilities, concerning actions. As far as viewing the world, being mesmerized by beauty can help shut out those adult thoughts and it is a wonderful state to be in.

“I hated being a kid” is my new favorite thing. Cern’s inner adult was always in the driver’s seat. This is like Big in reverse.pic.twitter.com/blkdxjE4uf

The inner child isn't even the same thing as a fear of adulting. Ignoring your inner child usually leads to a miserable existence, as does avoiding the responsibilities of "adulting".
