even leaving aside issues of descendants etc, @marwilliamson 's promise of $500B for reparations for the (roughly) 37m African-Americans works out to a little over $13k per person. As far as actual restitution goes, that is absurd.

that's not even the cost of a slave. per google, "In 1850, an average slave in the American South cost the equivalent of $40,000 in today's money." Slaveowners literally valued black people more than Marianne Williamson does.

the Federal government owns about 640 million acres of land in the United States. 40 acres per family descended from slaves is quite feasible a mule costs between $1k-$3k. we have the ability to fulfill what was promised.

Most people don't have use for a mule, but a mini-donkey is a wonderful alternative pet

I like this idea. 1. Is would spread people out, there are too many people living in the cities 2. It would generate more tax income in the form of prosperity taxes 3. People that can’t use the land could sell it and make money 4. The Government owns to much of this “free country”

Allocate the parcels by lottery. It would be the first state run lottery ever to result in a net increase in freedom.

Dude, you had the same idea I did. I even looked up the 640 million acre number. The fact that you also thought along the same lines makes me feel brilliant. You da man. 😂

it was 40 acorns and a mole. I'm not sure why everyone thinks it was 40 acres and a mule

That's market mule cost. Bet the government would pay 20 times that per mule.
