The number of total families in the US increases by over that amount every year as well. It took five seconds to look that up, which I suppose would be considered "hard to figure out" for non-galaxy brains.https://twitter.com/JhaveriVatsala/status/1134216576037773314 …

EVERY YEAR. As in the overall total is not 530,000. It's much higher, and gets higher every year. Not hard to figure out, galaxy brain.

I still can’t understand how high medical bills are a result of insurance company’s greed. They are the very ones that would want medical bills low

None have ever gone bankrupt on their student loans. We should make it more like that system.

No, we should make our healthcare system more like that of Canada, most of Western Europe, Israel and Japan. Universal healthcare works for them, surely it should work for 'the greatest nation on earth'.

Not to mention the number of people/families that struggle to get by without going bankrupt or those that forgo medical treatment at all because it’s too expensive. The fact families go bankrupt due to medical care alone is reason enough for change.

In just two years, if the statistic is true, we go up to 1 million Americans in debt because of the system. And most certainly more people on the borderline, struggling to pay the costs while putting food on the table. Seems like a great system. A+

In 5 years, we will have 600 million families in the US who will have not gone into bankruptcy because of the healthcare system
