The average salary for a teacher in Ohio is $58, 849. That includes first year teachers. Most are around the 68,000 dollar mark. This is crap. These teachers drive nice cars and live in nice neighborhoods. I work a lot of overtime to get those some numbers.

Gawd, people will bitch about anything. Teachers will get jobs in the summer because they can. All that time off from teaching means they have flexibility. You have the choice! Ask folks in most any other field. It's a great benefit. A lot of teachers will admit as much.

School librarian here. #1 reason I work in schools vice public libraries is number of working days per year. Both jobs allow me to share love of reading to learning. Nobody goes into teaching for the money- nobody!

Depends where you live. I will say, however a good teacher can teach just about anywhere. If they can’t afford to live where they teach they should move. But then the area will either have to address their cost of living or pay teachers more or find themselves w/o good teachers
