trying to gain weight while maintaining a low bf% is one of the hardest things i've ever had to do. the process is very dynamic and you only have very limited input into what your body needs. add to that agitation when bloodsugar is low and it's a mess

Check out The Renaissance Diet 2.0. The chapter on macro targets indicates that protein can be reduced somewhat on a hypercaloric diet, to as low as 0.7g/lb bodyweight. The protein is required for repair, but the carbs fuel the anabolism through the insulin response.
