But it’s ok for gov to tell businesses/colleges how to run, who to admit, how many of what color whether their app shows they can hack college or not. Gov is as bad as parents who bribe. The right of higher education is something you earn, not gifted to the unworthy.

Meritocracy is a great idea. Would be even better if it worked. How exactly do you rank millions of students so that only the best get into only a few universities? And even if you could, many of the most productive people (e.g. Bill Gates) wouldn't go there.

But I’ll meet you halfway. Fine, offer women’s studies, but be honest about income they might be able to make with this type of degree, so they will know how long it will take to payback their loan. A few years vs rest of their life.

Better yet, give high school students (and their parents) the skill set to figure this out on their own. It's not difficult. Kids are supposed to learn basic life skills in high school. Obviously, they're not.
