Yeah, the last time I was buying gear was during the rush of everyone snatching up every channel strip they could get their hands on regardless of whether the circuit was any good or not.

There was a decent amount of broadcast gear around as radio stations went digital through. I got a MCI two track, eight extra amps, and a nos head stack from a radio station in my hometown for free.

Nice! Plug ins have come a long way since I was recording, especially with the onboard processing those ua units have.

If it gets the job done it's all you need. I recorded a couple albums on a tascam 388, guitar pedals, and Chinese mics that sounded good enough to get my foot in the door in Nashville.

I've been out of the game for a decade, can you still grab used broadcast gear for reasonable prices? I've never run across a pre without real iron that I liked.

My portable rig used to be two racks, it's nuts how portable everything has gotten.
