Would you go so far as describe your reaction as “literally shaking”?

It should be the words and the meanings that are revered in any Religious Book- not the physical object itself. In many cases, that fanatical nartow-mindedness borders on fetishization, and leads to things like people being killed for 'blasphemy'.

Lots of old Bibles were “Family” Bibles. They’d be signed by the person gifting it, then there was a Family Tree inside to write in family names and new births.

I believe it’s the Bible’s owner that determines their preference. God doesn’t care if your bible is signed, he cares about your relationship with him.

I can understand the opposition to signing the covers, but I don't see it as blasphemy. If its not blasphemy, theres no other basis for it being wrong, Biblically, that I can see.

Oersonal bibles are always written in. Things that have special meaning are written there.

I'd rather see a Bible written on and in than one that's collecting dust and never opened!

Family Bibles have all kinds of genealogical information written inside.

ppl who criticize 'Bible Desecration' that obviously have never owned or read it. I'm not Christian, but I've seen plenty of Family Bibles marked up with notations, family trees, etc.
It's not a Koran, where you get stoned for 'desecrating' it. And not the good 'stoned'.
