Not my call, but that’s the purpose of a business, to be profitable. To close stores that just can’t seem to make it in their markets makes sense. But to reward your buddies for not figuring out how to adapt to changing markets is illogical. He should have hired new execs instead

Perhaps they decided there were better uses for corporate money elsewhere. The corporation's purpose is to maximize return on investment, not to keep particular stores open.
