e.g. Part of justification for separation of powers is to check excess by setting one man’s ambition against another’s. If 1 branch is bad & other 2 are good, that can provides a check. If 2 or 3 branches are bad, competition for relative power among them can provide a check.

I didn’t mean to insult. I think many people only understand the idea that majority good wins out, when there’s an additional (and more broadly applicable) principle to it.
