Left wing anarchism doesn't require a state. It couldn't possibly support a population like on Earth today, but 15,000 years ago, you had left wing anarchy. When humans started claiming plots of land to grow food upon, you began the evolution beyond that.

I think Taleb is essentially right when he considers localism vs globalism instead of just ideology. Anarchy does not forbid any of the forms of human organization, it just limits their scope.
