I still have no idea about the difference between whisky, whiskey, scotch and bourbon, and I intend to keep it that way

I actually think it’s a regional translation of the word. Scots spell it whisky and Irish spell it whiskey. Scotch whisky is of course meaning from Scotland and Bourbon is again a regional whiskey from Bourbon County Kentucky. That’s what I’ve been told.

You can have bourbons from other parts of they country. Just needs to be at least a 51% corn mash aged, at least 2 years in new oak barrels
