I always wondered why people who believe the constitution holds governments and politicians in check, also believe in democracy. What’s the need to pick leaders if the constitution stops them from doing wrong

I believe in a constitutional-republic and dislike democracy. Democracy is one step away from mod rule. At least with federalism you have a chance. However, even then, all systems fail when nobody has any virtue.

Most people cannot see the disconnect between their belief that the highest court is political in nature (painfully obvious in case of Kavanaugh) and that they are ruled by laws and not people.

I think we actually agree on a lot. Really enjoy your TV appearances especially on the Gutfeld show. A republic only works if there is a bases to say it went out of bounds. That's all I was getting at.

yes, and the real business end of the constitution is not the Bill of Rights, but instead the undemocratic structure of the federal gov't that it creates
