It’s only a form of communication under a social standard that sees it as such. So yes, she’s right, but should it always be that way?

I disagree. A percentage of the human body being exposed is not inherently conveying sexuality unless someone perceives it that way. I don’t believe a nudist is saying anything other than “I like being naked”.

Since when does your perception of someone else's psychology matter? If what you say was true, not one soul would have the slightest of issue with John Doe carrying around a visible gun in public because... hey, it tells me that guy values his own personal protection.

Not all people perceive the man carrying the gun the same way. There’s no way to prove how someone perceived something other than when they verbally communicate it. Technically every action is a form of communication to someone who perceived the action as meaning something.

I’m talking about intent. I don’t have to be communicating anything with my body for someone to think I am. People can read whatever they want into something someone says or does, it doesn’t mean they get to claim their reading on behalf of the person.
