The irony is that in 2018 Hillary Clinton is the most Thatcher-esque she's ever been, an elder stateswoman from a bygone era whose fellow partisans desperately want to keep quiet but are unable to figure out how.

Please don't insult Margaret Thatcher by comparing Hilary Clinton to her. They are both women, that is the extent of their similarities. In terms of their philosophy they are diametrically opposed.

And with all due respect the similarity is invalid. Thatcher maybe from a bygone era (if you class the 1980s a bygone era) but Clinton is 20yrs+ her junior they are a generation apart.

Even so, Thatcher ended her Prime Ministership in 1990. Is the 90s a bygone era? Thatcher ended career in Politics just as Clinton was getting into hers. If Clinton had been in U.S. Politics at the same time as Thatcher was serving as PM I may be able to see your point.

Well you may say that, but I would say that it's just not accurate.
