So you'd rather have an electorate that's apathetic because the most populated areas pick presidents? This is exactly what the founders warned would happen and had the foresight to design a republic that is the envy of the world.

Electoral College discussions moot except to expose the Dem's increasing lust for power. It's never going to happen because 2/3 of both houses of Congress required for an amendment or 2/3 of state legislatures. In both cases the small states would have to willingly give up power.
