Nobody made a fuss about Gorsuch. Another candidate with a party line vote would probably not cause such a controversy. Both sides can come up with hordes of examples of confirmation bias across the aisle, are you really contributing much to the situation???

This clusterfuck is Earl Warren's fault. Before the Warren court the justices treated the Constitution as a constraint. Not necessarily originalism, but the text was a meaningful limit. WC abandoned the text. It now means what it "ought" to mean, i.e. pure politics.
