The latter. Most people lost the ability to think long ago and instead just jump from one outrage to the next based on whatever their "leader" tells them to. It's a neat trick. All the moral superiority, none of the responsibility.

My experience with having this argument many times boils down to not being able to progress to principles when talking about a person they feel morally superior to. Principles only apply to people in good, agreeable standing

Progressives have been conditioned to think entirely in special pleading and ad hoc reasoning. We are talking about people who can watch mobs of black-clad hooligans pulling their best blackshirt impression and think, "But they call themselves *anti* fascist."

When you join social media, you agree to their ToS. The ToS, implicitly or explicitly, binds the social media site to provide their service if you obey their terms, and thus to prove you disobeyed the terms before denying service. Few bakeries have such contracts on their doors.

I'd gather that a ton of them are being disingenuous and assume that if they call people Alex Jones fans long enough the stigma of the label will silence opponents.
