When you approach failure, is the issue your ability to maintain grip on the bar, or fatigue in your posterior chain?

i do sets of 2 for 20 minutes. its just simply heavy. more grip than fatigue

You're right to avoid straps, but chalk makes a huge difference. You should also add in some grip work each week

i do forearm ez bar curls its not really the grip, i just dont have the strength really. even dropping the weight is brutal

Those are good, but the farmer's carry is probably the best grip exercise. It will make a difference It can be good to drop back down to what you can safely, deliberately handle. I also had a manlet try to fight me for loudly dropping the bar after I maxed, and he had a point
