Actually that is a sensible suggestion- it’s honest because people are going to suffer while this country floats in the global economy - what we as activists should be doing is explaining with patience - you don’t neglect and allow suffering for your ends @michaeljswalker

I don’t see why wanting us to be closer to the EU would be bad for Labour? If it’s a total shitshow when we leave without a deal later this year a closer relationship with Europe might be what most people want.

Why announce this position so early? It's a gift to the Tories. There's no reason to think it will be a 'shitshow'. We should let the Tories do the negotiations.They have a mandate. We have no control over the outcome so why have a pointlessly damaging political position?
