Lydia Thorpe is one of the staunchest allies for queer communities we’ve had in Australia in the past few years. Blak women do so much work for us and need more acknowledgment from white LGBTQIA+ advocates and activists. I wonder why that doesn’t always happen…

A tweet saying "this is bad" from a 62-year-old queer man is not going to change anything. LGBTQIA+ people need to call out the real enemy here and stop pointing fingers at each other. If u wanna drag Ru, do it over the fr*cking... not this.

I've seen way too many tweets calling out RuPaul for "not saying anything" on Tennessee and its odd seeing mostly white gays demand a *very* specific type of labour from a queer POC, who despite his problematic ways, has spoken & acted immeasurably in support of drag visibility

The ease & regularity we white queers prioritise our whiteness ahead of our queerness makes us the weakest link in liberation efforts, & why we should be followers, not leaders
Indigenous & Black queer ppl have always made shit happen in spite of our assimilationist instincts

The Last of Us episode 3 nailed queer representation in a way rarely put to screen: surviving on your own terms and loving fiercely is inherently queer. To call it "condescending" or "bait" misses the magic of 2 queers growing old together on screen.

Thanks for your opinion but it’s a no from me. ‘Queer’ is a lovely, inclusive, empowering and reclaimed word. You don’t have to use it, but you don’t get to tell other queers they can’t.
