The shooter at the grocery store in Buffalo's Black community wrote that he was motivated by the idea that white people are being replaced. It must be said that this white supremacist idea has been promoted by Tucker Carlson and others and is being mainstreamed by the right.

  4. As showcase season for the class of '22 (and in some cases, delayed presentations from '21 and '20) draws to a close, I'm loving seeing an inordinate number of resumes that include Geordie dialect work, a somewhat instant giveaway that someone was once in Billy Elliott callbacks.

No one else on my subway finds it bizarre that a man is swabbing his nose and giving himself a Covid test in the middle of a fairly crowded train.

My favourite kid I ever taught when I was a swim teacher was this little 4-year-old Italian boy. One time he sneezed and nobody said anything so he just went “what? No bless yous for Giacomo?”

Women's rights are human rights and human rights are women's rights. An extreme wing of the Supreme Court may seek to deny that fundamental truth. They may try to force their views on a country where 70% of people want Roe upheld. We will not be quiet and we will not go back.

To all the people who told me to “calm down” because Roe was “settled law”- A coup plotting sexual predator got to appoint a federalist, a rapist and a handmaiden to lifetime seats on the Supreme Court and they’re going to overturn Roe. So I won’t calm down. And also, f*ck you.

Not even slightly proud of this (on more levels than I can count) but... ever notice that it's totally luck of the draw whether Papa John's "Special" Garlic Sauce arrives in, like, a somewhat solid/creamy form, or as a liquid?

Today, I heard a friend say to another, "The train ride isn't bad at all. Just 40 minutes" and that is how I know people who live in Brooklyn experience time in ways that would astonish and terrify the rest of us.
