Especially given the grilling that Zuckerberg, Bezos, and Pichai get on a regular basis for their business practices. Wouldn't be surprised if they gang up on Cook in the upcoming congressional hearings.

Cook has arguably done more than any single western figure to accelerate China's industrial development, to normalize offshoring there, and to put a happy face on it for domestic consumption. He's not faced one pointed question about it from the tech press.

Republicans assured us that trade with China was the ticket to democracy for them. Trump profited handsomely from it too before becoming Preisdent. This is a built in failure of capitalism, not US based multinationals, or Democrats. Free markets demand the cheapest goods & labor.

The question is why is Apple doing business at all in China since they have Uyghurs in concentration camps. More broadly why is any multi-national co. Doing business there. I can tell you why, because of money. They make money and turn the other cheek. They’re hypocrites.
