I objected to it in theory but because I live in society I’m not changing schools or states over it. But hearing my 5 year old describe it was something else.

Also school shooters would likely have participated in those drills making them more prepared for a school shooting.

I teach. We drill. Good practice for the teachers in case of need. Lockdowns can come from nearby threats and not just on-campus shooters. We also drill for tornadoes and fire, which are also unlikely. Nice to have a plan.

Can the teachers do the drills without the students? Do you find natural disaster drills cause the same level of distress as shooter drills to students?
