Lol that's not true at all. Most insurances include it in the birthing bundle so they make no extra money

Yes, and who collects the insurance money when a circumcision is performed? Just so you know, hospitals can charge up to $2,000 in fees, and private doctors fight for a piece of the pie. Is it any wonder @AmerAcadPeds hesitates to condemn it? #i2pic.twitter.com/JnanbAcLA3

Don't forget about the pediatric urologists who deal w/the complications. Andrew Freedman readily admitted 20% of his patients see him "because of something related to their circumcision." A clear $$ motive to have AAP take a more pro-cutting position #i2 http://www.amednews.com/article/20120903/health/309039955/4/ …

Circumcision revisions aren't cheap, so 20% of patients might yield considerably more than 20% of income. Will Dr. Freedman disclose what % of his income comes from circumcision? Why so much emphasis on recommending it be covered by insurance? How does AAP not see its bias? #i2

DrJenGunter. You are a Dr. You are supposed to diagnose and indicate treatment based on medical fact, not what you “think.” You might block Twitter users for some time, but you can’t block the truth forever. Those informed can’t claim ignorance. What kind of Dr. are you? #i2

In case you actually wanted to know, circumcision can & does result in the partial/full ablation of the penis. Some men can’t have sex at all. What do you know about what it does? Do you have a penis? Are you circ’d? Didn’t think so. Stop #womansplaining to me. Knownothing. #i2
