...but what the future time saved? I semi-periodically receive and delete useless emails from these same companies/orgs all the time. Now, at least for some of them, it will stop!

It doesn't seem so bad once you amortize. The law changed, so the policy changes are concentrated at one time. So it seems like the argument is for one of 1. Privacy policies to never or rarely improve. 2. Companies to not tell us when privacy policies change.

I would say 9 emails is way too low. Every internet service that has my email address has been sending them. Remember most people have android phones and are very dependent on cloud/internet services.

Given that some of these companies were spamming people and now have to stop (no explicit consent) it’s a huge net gain (many multiples of this one time loss)
