Do you believe there are forms of art which take us as far beyond language as language did beyond the communication of chimps? Examples? (I understand they may take quite some time to appreciate!)
Any great piece of instrumental music. I've been brought up in the European tradition so I'd say pick any, Goldberg variations, any piece by Brahms, or 1000s others written over 700 years. And then there are musical traditions from other places, eg Asia or Africa.
