Pretty sure the reason calorie counting works is because it's a pain to log every detail. Easier to just not eat

Yeah. Whenever I start tracking calories with MyFitnessPal, I start swapping in Soylent instead of normal meals because then I don't have to track down a restaurant menu or find equivalents.

Makes me wonder if a simple rule like "do 3 pushups for each 100 calories in a meal or snack" would help as well. Not for the calories burnt, but just because pushups are aversive. Also, you'd get rather fit...
